| Job Description |
This area has to do with the control of nanoliter and picoliter volumes of fluid on devices.
Issues to be considered deal with the design, manufacture, control, and analysis of these devices, including: modelling,materials, molding and replication, sealing and assembly, on-board sensing, interfaces between the micro and macro worlds, control utilising Labview and applications of microfluidic devices.
This area of study is multidisciplinary, and as such, applicants from any engineering discipline would be considered.
Specific tasks will be identified in these areas and students will be expected to perform laboratory work or perform literature studies. Projects worked on could lead to final year project topics or a postgraduate study direction |
