Internship is applied learning integrating a student’s academic studies with work experience. The typical plan is for students to alternate periods of experience in appropriate fields of business and professions. Students are remunerated according to their academic and work discipline.
A minimum timeframe will be stipulated for the total work, but successful completion is determined by the attainment of predetermined skills and competencies, both quantitatively and qualitatively. BP, together with the institutions of higher learning, will develop learning objectives. These objectives enable students to extend their classroom learning into the workplace. The objectives are outlined in the study programme and are directly related to the work experience. BP, together with the participating institution, will monitor and assess the student’s progress on the job. |
